Happiness by Danielle Steel is hot off the press, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one.

Of course, that’s not unusual for me, as I’m most often running out (not walking) to pick up her latest book.

I think I’ve said this in every review I’ve ever written, but I’ll say it again. I keep expecting her to finally write a book that I don’t like. Did it happen this time?

Only my full review will really tell you! I don’t know…is it even possible for Danielle Steel to write a dud?

My review has a short synopsis of Happiness along with my true thoughts on this latest book published by this word artist of a woman called Danielle Steel. And as always, you’ll get my three Rs of book reviews – should you read, reread, or completely disregard reading Happiness by Danielle Steel?

Summary of Happiness by Danielle Steel

Sabrina Brooks, a renowned author celebrated for her riveting thrillers, leads a tranquil existence in the Berkshires with her cherished canine companions. Unbeknownst to the world, her serene facade conceals a painful history. Raised by an emotionally distant father during her formative years, Sabrina’s life lacked the warmth of affection. Her adulthood was marred by an abusive marriage that she eventually managed to escape.

The emotional turmoil she endured found an outlet in her writing, catapulting her to unprecedented success. However, a sudden letter disrupts her well-ordered life. The missive reveals that she is the sole living relative of her recently departed uncle and thus the rightful heir to his title and estate located outside London. Intrigued yet apprehensive, Sabrina undertakes a journey across the ocean to witness the estate firsthand, inadvertently unraveling her father’s enigmatic past and the concealed truths he guarded.

Initially resolved to swiftly liquidate the property and return home, Sabrina’s perspective shifts as she finds herself captivated by the picturesque gardens and the historical grandeur of the manor.

Amidst this backdrop, she develops a connection with the charming estate attorney, Grayson Abbott, who becomes her guide. While delving into the annals of her family lineage, Sabrina begins to ponder the prospect of embracing the role of “Lady Brooks,” potentially disrupting the stability she toiled to establish. The looming question is whether she possesses the courage to forge an alternative destiny.

In “Happiness,” Danielle Steel tells a story of inner fortitude, the pursuit of happiness, and the transformative potency of love. This book showcases Sabrina’s journey as she contemplates the path less traveled, inviting readers to explore themes of self-discovery and the resilience of the human spirit.

Review of Happiness by Danielle Steel

It’s hard to imagine that Danielle Steel writes about six books a year now. My husband doesn’t believe me when I tell him that. He thinks she has ghostwriters LOL!

But guess what, she tells us that herself. Recently Danielle was interviewed on GMA by Robin Roberts and that’s what she said. I always find her interviews interesting. Here’s the one from just a few weeks ago.

What I Liked – Happiness by Danielle Steel

I loved the main female character Sabrina Brooks immensely. I just felt that she was a strong lady with loads of integrity and not afraid of hard work to create some success in her life. She felt like a close friend from the moment I picked up the book.

Grayson Abbott is a man who appears in Sabrina Brooks’s life early on in the book, and by the description in the book – what a hunk LOL! What’s not to like about a handsome, sophisticated British lawyer? He seemed like a decent man and after some of the things that Sabrina has experienced in her life, I thought it was wonderful that she met someone like him.

I also loved Grayson Abbott’s father, Phillip. We don’t get to see a lot of him in the book, but I got enough to feel that having someone like him in your life, either as a friend, or a family member, would be wonderful.

I loved the setting of this book, both in the Berkshires in Massachusetts and most especially in England – one of my favorite places. I could imagine spending time on the Brooks estate and the feeling you would have if that were part of your own legacy.

And the romance developing between Sabrina and Gray….oh my – delicious!

This book moved so quickly, that I finished it in little more than a day. That’s a plus and a minus. So sad to see this one end!

What I Disliked About Happiness

There wasn’t anything I disliked about the book. But there were some characters that I didn’t care for and of course they were completely necessary for the story to move on as it did.

These characters were Sabrina’s parents – her mother and father, although we don’t really see much of them. But still, I didn’t like what they did to her, so that left me with a feeling of dislike for them.

Happiness by Danielle Steel – Conclusion

Reading Happiness was like putting on a warm, cozy sweater on a chilly day and feeling instantly warmed and comforted by that sweater.

There is truly no other way for me to describe the feeling I had as I read this book. It’s a book that brings comfort to my thoughts, and one that will stay with me for a long time. Suffice it to say that I loved it, and if you like Danielle’s books you’ll love this one too.

I predict that reading Happiness will make you happy just as it did me 🙂
